ABOUT ZEROBASEONE

zerobaseone (제로베이스원), also known as ZB1 (제베원) is a nine member group formed through mnet's survival show boys planet (보이즈 플래닛) which aired from february 2nd, 2023 to april 20th, 2023.the group consists of sung hanbin, kim jiwoong, zhang hao, seok matthew, kim taerae, ricky, kim gyuvin, park gunwook and han yujin. they are managed by wakeone entertainment and their contract will last for 2 years and a half. they made their debut on july 10th, 2023 with the mini album, ‘YOUTH IN THE SHADE‘. for their japanese promotions they will be managed by LAPONE Entertainment and they will make their japanese debut in march of 2024.zerobaseone represents the "journey of the nine trainees to be completed as one after their debut". it refers to the "glorious beginning" of the nine members, starting from zero (0) and ending with one (1), implying the members' commitment to share the unfinished journey of their group from zero to one with their fans.in april 2023, wakeone announced that zerobaseone started to prepare with the goal of debuting in the middle of the year.on may 1st, 2023, the group held a live stream on mnet plus to celebrate the opening of their community on the platform. during the stream, they introduced themselves with their official greeting for the first time, answered fan questions, and revealed their official fan club name which is ZE_ROSE (제로즈), a combination of “zero” and “rose.” jiwoong further described the meaning by explaining the link between ZE_ROSE and ZEROBASEONE’s shortened name ZB1, which is read in korean as “ze-be-one.” if you take ‘ze-be-one’ out of ZEROBASEONE, you’re left with ‘rose.’ so if you combine ZB1 with rose, you get ZEROBASEONE. it captures the meaning that ZB1 and rose are one. jiwoong added that while many fans suggested a lot of meaningful names, the group decided on ZE_ROSE through a team discussion.on may 11th, 2023, it was confirmed through an official announcement that hanbin is the leader of zerobaseone.on may 14th, 2023, zerobaseone released a spoiler film called 'Youth in Shade' after completing their first group schedule at KCON Japan 2023. the released video only features two members (zhang hao and hanbin), who at the end of the video face each other with a small candle in the middle, then the words 'Youth', 'In The', and 'Shade' appear intersecting. on may 26th, 2023, wakeone
